We are going cuckoo for Keukenhof, mainly because seeing 7 million bulbs burst into bloom and put on a hell of a show is our thing! If you think that having your mind blown by the power of flowers might be your thing too, you need to get to the beautiful Keukenhof gardens in Lisse. Stuff Dutch People Like has put together a list of 10 things you need to know about this floral haven.
10 Things You Need To Know About Keukenhof
1. Keukenhof advertises itself as, “the most beautiful spring garden in the world”. It’s quite the behemoth of a garden too, and stretches over 32 hectares (to put this in perspective, one hectare is the equivalent of nearly 2 soccer fields). That’s a whole lot of flowers and must make for some very happy bees! There are 15 kilometers of paths through the garden, which you can walk around to take in the many gorgeous floral views.
2. Keukenhof opens for a mere 8 weeks in every year, from March to May. It’s thyme you made some plans to go there! Over these 8 weeks, over a million visitors will come to admire the floral porn.
3. There are about 30 full-time gardeners who work year-round at Keukenhof. 100 bulb growers supply 7 million bulbs, for free, which are planted in the autumn. You could say they rose to the occasion to get all that planting done…At the end of the season the bulbs are dug up, and used as animal food. That’s one tasty floral treat for some four legged friends.
4. To ensure that flowers continuously bloom for 8 weeks, the gardeners use something called a “lasagne technique”. They plant the bulbs in layers, with the bulbs that bloom the latest planted the deepest, and the earliest blooming bulbs the closest to the surface. Imagine if they planted in the reverse order ….oopsie daisy!
5. The garden is in a small town called Lisse, which is easy to get to by public transport. You can also take a bus tour from Amsterdam…in fact, it’s possible to head to Keukenhof directly from Schiphol airport, as you can take a tour bus directly from outside the airport.
6. Walking around the gardens, from one amazing flower display to another, will make you a happier person. It is guaranteed to be a fabulous floral treat.
7. Each year there’s a new theme. 2016 was, ‘The Golden Age’. This year Keukenhof is celebrating, ‘Dutch design’. In particular think abstract, geometric forms and primary colors.
8. Right now at Keukenhof the crocuses and daffodils are in bloom. You might see the very early tulips starting to bloom outside, but don’t expect a garden full of tulips at the beginning of spring time, as they bloom a little later. See for yourself on the Keukenhof ‘current status of the flower fields’, webcam. Thanks a bunch for that guys 🙂
9. As well as the fabulous colourful flower displays, Keukenhof also houses the world’s largest collection of lilies and even has its own windmill.
10. While you are visiting the actual gardens, don’t forget to hire bikes or take a boat tour of the flower fields in the local area. Or if you’re feeling a bit ‘rock and roll’, why not take a helicopter ride over the tulip fields? Go with your lover and put your tulips together (sorry, last pun, we just couldn’t resist) 😉

Waar? Keukenhof. Dus vrije toegangskaartjes zou die dag zo special maken.
I live in Quebec Canada and for my first time in Europe, I’m going to Holland from may 7 to may 14. Keukenhof in on top of our list…
we are visiting my homecountry in april, we would love to show our daughter the Keukenhof.
My daughter is right now in the Netherlands. Even though she is Dutch (because of her Dutch mom), she has never seen de keukenhof. That’s a shame!
To many people Netherlands is synonymous with flowers, tulips especially. This tulip season we are getting lots of guests from as far as Myanmar who want to experience the most beautiful spring garden in the world. It would be lovely to gift them some tickets to Keukenhof!
I’d love to visit Keukenhof with my family, specially we are expats in here 🙂
This is crazy, I only just told my friend from Ukraine about Keukenhof the other day! I’m Dutch and we met while living in Hamburg. Now we finally managed to find a date this April to visit Holland so I can show her my home country 🙂 Keukenhof is on our list of things to do, especially since I’ve never even been there myself!
I love your posts by the way, always a lovely reminder of home when German daily business takes over 😀
Because it would be a dream come true for me and my husband
I am Canadian student of Dutch heritage travelling all the way to Netherlands this upcoming month and my childhood dream has been to visit the Keukenhof as I love gardening. It would be amazing to win tickets to spend that one day exploring the Keukenhof!
I’d love to see the flower gardens to fill a dying wish of my late Omar.. to be able to enjoy the Dutch flower gardens like she used to.
Thank you for showing your beautiful garden,it would be a real privilege to see and enjoy.
I’m Dutch, moved back to the Netherlands after living abroad for 22 years. I’ve never been to the Keukenhof and would love to explore it with my English husband and family for the first time
I need these tickets because my American husband seems to think that visiting Amsterdam showed him everything there was to see in the Netherlands… We moved back here almost 2 years ago, I think it’s time he (and my two kids) sees a little more 🙂
We’re heading to the Netherlands in May and would love to show de Keukenhof to my Australian husband and kids!! Our first spring in the Netherlands together will be complete if we won the tickets??
I would love some tickets to Keukenhof because I haven’t been there since 1986! I was born in the Netherlands but came to the US early in life. I love flowers and grow tulips. This is a wonderful website!
As a native Dutchie, with loads of international friends, I have to admit I’ve never been to the keukenhof. For some reason, doing tourist stuff in your own country gets a bit frowned upon. But I think it’s about time to visit and would love to win tickets so I can explore these beautiful gardens as a true native tourist.
Having grown up in an close to Holland, I miss the beauty of the flowers poking their heads up in the spring. To me it is the picture of hope after dispair. The long winter followed by the promise of a beautiful tomorrow. Between the tulips and the beautiful fields of heather, not sure which I miss the most.
This is my motherland! I definitely need to go – I would so love aa chance to see these beautiful fields in person and visit the land of my people. Please ‘pick’ me! 🙂
I am of Dutch heritage, born and raised in West Michigan in the US. Our area is one of the largest enclaves of Dutch immigrants in the United States. Every year we host Tulip Time in Holland, MI, complete with tulip tours, a giant windmill, and klompen dancers. It would be a dream come true I visit The Netherlands and see where my great-grandparents came from.
I would love to win the tickets because my family and I will go next week to the Netherlands. I visited the keukenhof as a little child (I’m Dutch) and I would love to visit it again with my Greek husband and children!
I want to show them to my sister in law, who just moved this months from Brazilië to the Netherlands. I think this is part of dutch heritahe so a great way to introducé the Netherlands to her. she loves flower and was an art tea Cher in Brazilië so this years theme…de stijl is the perfect combination to show her.
My family is Dutch ,all born in Holland , except me . They moved to Canada in 1956,and have all been back to see Holland to visit since , except me. I would love to travel to Holland , and see the tulips and the homeland of my family …..just saying
I have been suffering from expat depression. I doubt that is an actual term but I’m homesick for my friends and family and also my flower gardens that I have on my 5 acre property back in the US. Gardening is my hobby, it is like the air I need to breathe and living in a city apartment just isn’t the same! Going to Keukenhof would help make me stable again.
I would be glad if i won Two trickets, because i live in Denmark and always wanted to see your beatyful flowers, and i am comming to Holland on the first of May this year ???
I need tickets! I am currently doing my masters in The Netherlands, and even though I’ve been to Keukenhof before, I find it absolutely beautiful and worth visiting more than once! I am coming from a place in which we practically have no spring, since the weather is extremely hot and dry. So, during spring time we have temperatures above 35°C. This is why when I came to The Netherlands I found spring amazing! I would like to enjoy this beautiful spring flowers as much as I can, since I still don’t know where I am gonna be after graduating. Moreover, I would like to take my girlfriend to this place, since she has never been there.
We haven’t been to Keukenhof since we came five years ago. Our first year, the traffic jams were so bad, we gave up & decided that we would only go when we have friends & family visit from overseas. We have been admiring photos of Keukenhof ever since & visiting the fields around Keukenhof & although we have had many friends & family visit us, none have made it at the “right time” for the tulips….yet…
Want to feel that spring feeling on this grey and rainy day in Ontario, Canada. Learned about it from my parents after their visit in the late ’70s. Have always wanted to go back to the Netherlands; was there in January 1980: no tulips out!. Lots of Family there, since both parents were born there.
Its still winter where i live in canada i really need to the spring flowers
I would loooove to be able to take my Mama back to the Netherlands (her homeland) to see her favourite flowers in all their glory!!!
I just really want to go! Together with my boyfriend. How romantic
I am Brazilian and since I lived in Brazil it was one of my dreams to visit Keukenhof. The opportunity to come live in the Netherlands for a year came and I kept thinking how wonderful it would be and that I wouldn’t finally have the change to visit the garden. I have been living here for almost 8 months and I have been having one of the best years of my life. To win this ticket would be very special to me and I am sure I would really take advantage and appreciate it. Spring is they best time of year and how lucky am I to be here? ?????
Looks blooming marvelous, would love to bring my whole family for holiday.

I really need cheering up. Flowers, barrel organ music, more flowers, windmills, canals, frikandel speciaal, Amstel beer, flowers, clogs, bikes, Edam, more flowers and then some flowers to finish off would do the trick. Please can I have some tickets?
My entire family is coming all the way from Indonesia to visit me and i have been fuzzing around that they have to visit keukenhof. They finally agreed and now i have to be responsible for that. Free ticket will even more convince them they need to visit keukenhof ??
I would like to take my mother there! She does anything for me and she deserves a little trip to the Keukenhof. I’m sure she will love it 🙂
Because Flowers are the life and blood of Netherlands, and I want to run in those fields surrounded by all colors of the rainbow
Zodat we ons 25 jarig huwelijk in Nederland kunnen vieren met familie. En wat is meer Nederlands dan tulpen.
Eventhough my fantastic boyfriend has lived close to the Keukenhof, he has never visited the Keukenhof yet! Winning those tickets would leave him with no excuse. Would love to show him the beauty of the place xx
My boyfriend and I would love to enjoy the flowers together!
I am returning to The Netherlands after 27 years in May. How wonderful it would be to see these beautiful gardens.
Both my husband and I come from a Dutch heritage. We have been in the Netherlands, but have never had the opportunity to see Keukenhof Gardens. Hopefully, before we leave this earth, we will see it!
I would love to take my boys to the Keukenhof so that they can experience the Dutch culture at its best, have a better understanding of it, and feel proud about their heritage, so that they can pass it down to their children!
Because I am in the bijstand, and noway ever would have a change to visit the Keukenhof on a budget like that!
There are a few reasons that the festival is particularly special to me this year. I am a student focusing on modern art, so this year’s theme is so perfect for me! Also, as a recent transplant to the Netherlands, being able to say that I’ve been to Keukenhof once is perfect for my inbergering!
My family was born in the Netherlands. My mom took me back in 1970 in the spring to see the tulips. Unfortunately it was the coldest spring in 100 years and we never saw a single tulip bloom. This is my first chance to go back in the spring since 1970 to see the tulips. Now I am bringing my daughters in honor of my family. I am counting on seeing Keukenhof in full bloom this time.
My student son is visiting NL in the next couple of weeks to see my sisters. To be able to visit the Keukenhof would be such a treat ?
The first of May my Belgian boyfriend, our Nepalese and Afghan neigbours are going to the Keukenhof. Unfortunately I’m in a wheelchair now and heading towards 2 maybe 3 operations on the ankle. So I have to visit the Keukenhof on wheels. Really bad luck.
I want to have one more chance to enjoy the flowers with a friend of mine, make a huge number of pics and use them as my screensaver, as I currently am using the ones from 5 years ago! 🙂
I also will make sure not to come on a national holiday like last time, so i can see it when it is not so crowded! 🙂
My husband and I are both secon generation Dutch and hope to visit the Netherlands with our baby daughter next year during the tulip festival. Tickets to Keukenhof would definitely help us get there and make our dream a reality.
I’m visiting Holland at this time- for the first time ever- to specifically see the Tulips- so the tickets would be fabulous. Holland is my parents birthplace.
I just married a lovely Dutch American woman and her biggest wish is to see the land of her father and all of its culture.
Would love to see all the Tulips, I am born in Holland but never went to the Keukenhof, my cousin lives close by, would be lovely to see her and the rest of the family! Thank you
I would want to win a ticket to Keukenhof! I’m an au pair here in Holland and I would love to visit Keukenhof while I’m here, because I love tulips and it’s one of the most cliché things you need to do here!
Doing my parent’s family genealogy. Both are gone now/bless them. All my family live in Netherland. This would be a blessing to see this beautiful garden and walk where my parents walked and visit family. Good luck everyone.
I am the first person born in the USA in my family. Everyone is from Amsterdam or the Hague. I visited Holland when I was 15 and then when I was 17, but that was 47 years ago. I would love to see Holland again. The herring stands, the tulips, the canals, the bicycles. Most of all, Keukenhof….breathtaking loveliness!
I’d love to take my mother who will be celebrating her 80th birthday this coming year. Being of Dutch descent, an extended visit to the Netherlands is the one thing she said she would still like to do. ?
I would love to win tickets as I am travelling to the Netherlands in April and was planning to visit Keukenhof as i never went before. I love flowers very very much! I am French but I also love “stuff Dutch people like” ? xxx
I would love to have 2 tickets, for my twin-sister and me. Next week I’m going to Holland to celebrate out 50th anniversery!
Visiting in may with my sister who lives in Oz. Looks beautiful and would be a great addition to our holiday.
Hi there! I am from Canada and have visited my relatives 3 times before in The Netherlands and this time I told my husband whenever I get to go back again it will be in the spring to see the tulip fields at the Keukenhof Gardens! Well, I am leaving on Tuesday April 3rd to go on a Rhine Cruise and I WILL BE AT KEUKENHOF GARDENS on April 16th! My cousin and her husband are from The Netherlands and will be joining us….they have never been there before! Thank you!
Where else can you experience the sights and smells of natures beauty and appreciate the hard work of so many gardeners in one place.
Zelfs ik als Nederlandse ben er nog nooit geweest vandaar dat ik nu mijn kans waag om tickets te winnen! ?
Because i would absolutely LOVE to visit the flowers for the first time in my life! ???????
For the simple fact that I live in Maastricht and need a good reason to make the trip to Holland! So pick me, pick me and I can come visit!
We would really love to go to the Keukenhof this year. This year we have no bulbs in our garden, and it is a great spectacle to see them in such big numbers.
I have never been to the Keukenhof, so it sure is about time. I wijl certainly take my wife and 3 kids to enjoy tis splendor of colour.
I’ve been trying to get to the Netherlands in spring for years already. But this year in April I will finally be able to make it. Visiting Keukenhof would be so awesome! Keeping fingers crossed.
I grew up in Holland and moved to England when I was 9. I have fond memories of this place and many a photo of me and my sisters visiting here as a child (we lived in Dordrecht) with the tulips in the background, my dad is a keen gardener so loves anything like this! It’s my dads 70th birthday this year and it would mean to the world to him to head back here, he loved the place so much. Whenever I speak to anyone about Holland I’m always telling them how wonderful and beautiful it is. At Keukenhof He’s heading back to Holland soon, suprise tickets would be amazing!
I am visiting the netherlands on my 50th birthday on the 1st of may. Having been born there but emigrated as a teenager to Australia i have never visited the Keukenhof so this will be my first visit.
I have a friend who’s coming all the way from South America just to see Amsterdam and we both love flowers, gardens and parks. What best way to show her one of the best places to see in The Netherlands than going to the Keukenhof! One of the best places I’ve ever been in The Netherlands.
I would like to go with my husband and kids
Me and my Filipina wife used to live in the Netherlands but moved back to the Philippines eleven years ago. When we lived in the Netherlands, my wife got her diploma “bloemschikken” at Holland College in Naaldwijk. She actually finished top of her class of this intensive course that lasted two years. During that time she worked in several flowershops and also a few seasons in de Keukenhof as freelancer. Her biggest regret of moving back to her home country is missing the beautiful flowers in the Netherlands and the especially the world class exhibitions in the Keukenhof. We have never been back since we moved. But this year I was finally able to organize my leave such that we can travel to the Netherlands in spring. She doesn’t know it yet, but I plan surprise visit to the Keukenhof with her. She will be thrilled. And she even will be more thrilled if I can tell her that I manage to get her a free ticket, not because we can’t afford to buy one but because I made an effort of sharing her love for flowers and my love for her with you.
Because I’ve been here for 3 years and I still haven’t visited the Keukenhof. It’s one of the only things left on my NL bucket list
Springtime will not be complete without seeing the beautiful tulip fields ??
simply because flowers make me happy and its a great way to have a wonderful outing with friends and family admiring the beauty of this colorful season!
My family and I are visiting Holland from Canada this year for a family reunion with just enough time to see the beautiful Keukenhof before it closes! I would love to surprise them with tickets 🙂
I met my boyfriend in Amsterdam 2 years ago in spring, we have a beautiful love story because back then I was living in The Philippines (I’m from Nicaragua) and we managed how to finally be closer each other. The reason I would like to get the free tickets it because we are getting married this summer and we would like to have photoshoots in this amazing place for our engagement album, it means a lot for us because it was the very first place he took me when we just met.
I’ve always wanted to visit Keukenhof, but never buy tickets to the Netherlands in time. This year I plan to go end of May and the free tickets would be perfect.
Living in Australia was just a blast,
And making friends; time goes fast!
Going back home was kinda sad,
But being again with family was definately not bad.
Now our Aussie friends are on their way,
And will visit us for a spring stay.
Visiting the Keukenhof will be on their bucket list when they are here,
So some free tickets will surely create a cheer!
Sandra! You are a WINNER! How can we not pick such a talented poet? 😉 😉 Can you pleas send us your full postal address via email to [email protected] and we will mail you 2 free tickets. Congrats!!
I’m Dutch and currently living in The Netherlands. I’ve lived in Louisiana, USA for a couple of years and there I met Rebecca, who became my best friend. Now, 15 years later, we are still best friends. Time and distance have not affected our friendship. We talk almost every week on Skype and try to visit each other every two years.
All the times she has been here it was not Keukenhof time, but this time she is coming especially in spring (30-4/18-5) to see the Keukenhof.
So that’s the reason I would love to win these tickets! To show my transatlantic bestie, the beauty of nature that is typically Dutch.
Born and raised in Best, Noord Brabant, I now work in Canada as a midwife. Haven’t been back in six years but I’m finally flying back home for a few weeks in April and incredibly thankful for and excited about it. I convinced a friend to come along, as she has never been to Nederland. De Keukenhof is definitely on our list of things-to-do!
I moved to France 14 years ago. I visited the Keukenhof when I was a tiny little boy. I would like to go again with my french wife (she never went there) and because the Keukenhof is “Stuff Dutch People Like” !!!
Simple as that !
Thanks !
I’m visiting the Netherlands for the first time (I’m from the US) from April 15-23. I specifically planned my vacation during this time just so I can see the beautiful tulips and other flowers at Keukenhof. I can’t wait to see it all with my own eyes, and not just in pictures. My co-workers are so envious. I work for the study abroad office at an American university, so I get to hear of so many wonderful adventures. Now I will have a story to tell too! I’m going whether or not I get free tickets, but getting the tickets for free means I can spend that money I saved in the gift shop!
I would like to go because I could never plant that many tulips in our garden. It will be once in a life time show. Lot’s of cousins to show me the way around.
we will come to holland next week from sweden and i will show my swedish partner de keukenhof in 7 days, so tickets would be most welcome, for me as a dutch guy i am ashamed to say that it will be the first time for me as well
My mother in law immigrated to Canada from Holland when she was a child with her family of 16! Last year we lost my father in law (also Dutch) to cancer. She has two sisters and a brother who have also lost spouses to cancer. In April, she will be in Holland with those siblings and my sister in law. I would like to give the tickets to them. They would love it so much.
I need some tickets so I can travel over from Dublin with my family to see this beautiful spectacle. We’d all also love to see the world’s largest Lily show not to mention the Japanese garden and all the other gardens at Keukenhof.
My family is originally from the Netherlands. I would love to visit this amazing garden to learn more about my heritage!
We would like to go 6 off us are coming from Canada april 23 till may 7 love to go
I’m living abroad and it is high time i took my wife and kids to see something so incredibly Dutch as the Keukenhof. We’ll be visiting Holland soon so this would be the perfect excursion!
I am planning to go to the Keukenhof when I am in Holland for Easter. Some of my friends in Ireland have been on holidays and I felt a bit bad that they know my birth country better than I do.
Because I want to see, smell and touch the real Tulips, instead of seeing in TV or Internet only.
I will be flying to the Netherlands for the first time this May and I am so in love with the Tulips as they are very rare in Asia, especially in Malaysia. That is the first thing I requested my Dutch boyfriend, to bring me to see the Tulips! ? This May will be my first time seeing the unrooted Tulips!!! It will be the most romantic and beautiful memory for both of us. ❤️
I’d love to go as I’m now retired and would have time to travel from Canada. I was born in Eindhoven and have visited a few times but have never seen these beautiful gardens. Canada has the beautiful Butchart Gardens but different than Keukenhof. This year I have -planted 75 of the newly developed tulips that look like the Canadian flag. They are in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday. Wonder if they’ll have some of those in the Keukenhof?
I think it is thyme to go again, see all the colors of the blooms including rose colors. Last time (oopsie daisy), I didn’t know about Keukenhof, came at the very end of the season and promised myself I would come back. I want to see a bunch blooming tulips again.
Im going to NL next week with my parents to visit my Oma (I was born and raised in England but my mum is from Rotterdam!). My Oma is turning 87 next week, I don’t get to see her often and i would love for us to all take her here as a birthday treat, she would love it! Thank you ???
Nothing makes me happier than flowers. I would LOVE to tiptoe through the tulips at Keukenhof?????
My brother, my youngest son, and myself will be in the Netherlands the first of May to see my fathers birthplace and Keukenhof is on our list of places to see. We are all very excited to see it !
In all the years that I live here (and I have lived here since I was born) I have never visited this gorgeous garden – such a shame! I would like to see it for myself.
I would love to go to Keukenhof!! I lived in Amsterdam for years, but somehow never got to go there.
I’d love to win some from my English friend who is staying over here for a week! She came last year too and just missed the blooming season so I’d love to take her to see it!
As a Dutch girl, even in the 23 years that I lived in the Netherlands, I’ve never been there: shame on me!! Now I am planning to take my Jordanian mother-in-law there this april, she is sooo excited! Being from a dry desert country, such an abundance of green and flowers is almost a miracle to her 🙂
We’re coming to The Netherlands to reconnect with family. We would love to treat them to a visit to beautiful Keukenhof.
Me! Me! Me, please! I’m italian and I moved to the Netherlands last year, after living in France for 5 years. I love to explore a new country and for this reason I bought from you the 4 books “Stuff Dutch people like, people say, people eat and mums like” and I love them. I don’t feel like an expat anymore, I’m just “otherwise Dutch”! I’ve never been to the Keukenhof and would love to visit it with my husband and kids (5 and 3 years old). And I can do a lot of publicity, writing about it!
Laura you are a WINNER! How can we say no to an uber-fan! Thanks for buying all our books. 🙂 🙂 Can you please email us at [email protected] with your full postal address, and we will send you two tickets!
8 years living in NL and I have never been. My Dutch boyfriend has never been. Our kids have never been. We NEED the tickets. ??
At 92 my husband is finishing his bucket list. Though he’s on hospice care now he’s still dreaming of traveling to the Netherlands to experience the fantastic tulip fields and to eat real Dutch food. This trip would be a wonderful last adventure!
I want to rub flower petals all over my body and bath in the sun
I could use some additional colour in my life right now.
Here for my husband’s “last visit ” it has been over 20 years since he was in the Netherlands. We have been married for 41 years. I am Dutch, he is American. Would love to show him around one more time. Thank you for your consideration.
I wanna take my little girl there! I’ve never been able to because it’s so expensive but I’d love to show her the beautiful flowers.
I am so exited to visit the Netherlands for the first time in April. We are a Dutch family raised in a mostly Dutch community in the US. Taking my mom to the Netherlands for her 60th birthday. It is the first time for both of us!
My mom was from Holland. I have never been, and would love to go. She would talk about Holland when we were kids. Would love to see what sxhe told us about Holland.
Would love to surprise my mother with free tickets for The Keukenhof! Best Birthday present ever! Hope it s my Lucky Day! Fingers crossed!
Because I left the Netherlands in 1989 and will be back for a visit next month! Last time I was at the Keukenhof was in 1987 when I brought my than boyfriend, now my husband, there. Would love to go see it again!!
I was visiting Keukenhof last year already. But we went there so late that we had just two hours in there. I thought that is enough but I have never ever seen something that amazing in my life before. It is like a litte fairytale land. So I really want to go this year again (this time a bit earlier) to see everything and visit every greenhouse.
And I would love to take my dutch boyfriend (who never visited Keukenhof xD) to show him HIS country 🙂
It is about time that I visit the Keukenhof as I left Holland 29 years ago and never visited this beautiful place….. Shame on me! All my friends visiting Holland as a tourist did!
My only 2 brothers and my nephew with the same last name….so the 3 of them are stamhouders….hope to go this spring. Would love to be able to surprise them with tickets to see the world-famous, beautiful Keukenhof! This is their first time visiting the Netherlands but with very Dutch roots (parents born in NL), they would love it!!!
Our first baby will bloom in May. It would be nice for my husband and me to go to nature before giving a relaxing and natural birth.
I am turning 50 in 2018; my husband just turned 50 this year. We are planning a trip to celebrate our birthdays and want to go somewhere in Europe (we live in Canada). I am adopted, but from Dutch birth parents, and I have always felt a calling to visit Holland. This would be a trip of a lifetime for me!
My Mexican husband has been so discouraged by todays politics of walls and separation, I would love to lift up his spirits by showing him and my children the fields of flowers in de Keukenhof this april. Just to admire the majestic beauty of flowers will give them so much joy and hopefully hope for a better world where we are all one in admiration of so much beauty!!!
This is on my bucket list! I would LOVE the opportunity to go with my family as it is something I’ve wanted to do since I was little and learned about where my parents/grandparents came from. ?❤️
My husband and I are going to NL in April for our honeymoon (finally). I get to introduce him to the beauty of the Netherlands after we had to delay our trip first planning honeymoon due to my mom passing away. I can’t wait to share this with him! I’ve read him some of your posts to prepare him for the trip ☺️?
I was born in NL and have lived 40 years in the states, would love to bring my husband & kids to see Keukenhof and tour around NL seeing family and eating a kroket.
I have been to Holland twice and it has always been after Keukenhof. I would love to see this beautiful display for real. I follow it every year via fb.
I cannot even imagine how magnificent all these millions of beautiful flowers must look! I think it will be an experience of a lifetime for me, and my family, to see this seaside of colour…
As an aspiring photographer and PhD student studying culture and its vibrant importance, it would be an amazing opportunity to visit the Keukenhof and impart some of that cultural and natural beauty to my children as well along with my wife.
I cannot even imagine how magnificent all these millions of beautiful flowers must look! I think it will be an experience of a lifetime for me, and my family, to see this sea of colour…
My husband is Dutch but we live abroad. We will visit with your 3yo and this is something we would all enjoy!!!
After moving there from the US I took my Dutch mother-in law who was in her 90’s, Dutch husband and Dutch sister-in-law to the Gardens. It was their first visit too! But they loved it so much that it became a favorite outing. We live in the US now and my mother-in-law has passed but I would love tickets to visit with my now nearly-80 year old sister-in-law when we come for a visit in early May.
My parents immigrated from Holland and have been sharing their stories with them all their life. Would love to be able to show them instead of just look at pictures. Such a beautiful place.
Oh visiting the Keukenhof is on the top of the list of things to see in Holland for my special needs Sister. We have only 24 days to go before our exciting trip starts. It would be fantastic to receive tickets for the Keukenhof ❣❣❣❣
I would love to win tickets, I am coming to Holland next week and it’s our first spring visit.
Next Friday my aunt is flying over to the Netherlands from America specifically to see the Keukenhof and the tulip fields of Lisse. I’m sure there are probably many other people doing this, too, but if she won she’d be thrilled to bits!
I would love to show Keukenhof to my husband who never had the opportunity to go there!?It’s spectacular and beautiful and a big part of Dutch heritage and culture
Miss my country with all of its beauty and customs!!! Every spring my home is with tulips and I am happy and sad at the same time!! At 71 years old I would like to take my parents ashes back home and leave the ashes among the flowers and country they carried in their heart for so many years and never forgotten!!,!!!!!!
Beacuse I am visiting Amsterdam with my wife to celebrate my 1st year wedding anniversary. And there can be no better place more beautiful and romantic than the tulip gardens to celebrate the occasion with the love of my life. 🙂
I want to make my Master Gardner friend jealous!
Because we live in Singapore and I am a huge fan of Tulips! We have the Tulipmania here in our Gardens by the Bay and they are so beautiful but I am sure seeing the real Keukenhof will be super cool! And Leuk! 😉
My bf is dutchie and has never been too. Will be a nice surprise if we get tickets and can visit for the 1st time together!
Love the Keukenhof!! Woonde in Leiden, maar mijn zussen namen me uit! Geweldige dag gehad. Dit is 21 jaar geleden! Zou dolgraag een zussen dag doen! Woon nu in Los Angeles…
Leaving for Amstelveen at the end of the month, would love to see the flower show ?????
My Philippino wife has had dreams about tulips since her childhood.
Now she is here in Netherlands and so finally a dream can come true for her.
P.S. She was a teacher in Philippines and the name of her class was “The tulips”
I Love Netherlands and flowers ??
I am Dutch, my husband is Polish we visited in 1999. He absolutely loved it. My favorite things are windmills, tulips and many other things. I would love to see my cousin again. My parents were both born in the Netherlands.
Two big reasons: 1. It’s been a while since I’ve seen my family. Keukenhof is the perfect place to meet up with family again, great for all ages and provides for a very relaxed day. 2. My boyfriend is coming to the Netherlands with me (my home country). He will be the first in his family to go to Europe. He is a singer-songwriter and can’t wait to get new inspiration from the new scenery and experiences. We planed our trip so that Keukenhof would be open! He can’t wait to see it!
My totally lovely Dutch girlfriend want me to know her country and its culture.
And that I want to to give me a better understanding of who she is and where she comes from – this is a great opportunity.
I am Canadian but also am privileged to have acquired a Dutch passport (because of heritage … my parents are both from the Netherlands). My husband does not have any Dutch heritage, but he considers himself a ‘wanna-be Dutch citizen’, as he too loves everything Dutch. Neither of us has yet seen the Keukenhof, so this would be the experience of a lifetime for us.
I have 4 Canadians arriving on May 5th for holiday, I have already planned to take them there, but free tickets would make there experience even greater. Personally i have been to the Keukenhof 3 times before and loved every minute of it and will keep coming back.
I visited Keukenhof last year with my daughter who lives in NL. This year my husband is joining me on my yearly visit to see our family. A free ticket will make it so much easier for me to convince him to join me at Keukenhof.
I’d love to go and show my Portuguese girlfriend and mother in law one of the most beautiful spots in The Netherlands!
I have been to The Netherlands many times visiting our foreign exchange students and families but have never been able to go see Keukenhof. I would love this opportunity. <3
Would love to go to the Keukenhof with my Austrian lady!
I have always loved tulips. This seems like the absolutely best place to see them.
Also, a few years ago, I discovered I have Dutch ancestry. This would be a perfect win for me.
because Shankar, my little brother, comes this week aaaaaaaaalll the way from NEPAL especially for these flowers!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
LOVE the Keukenhof!! What a treat to be able to return after many years!!
I always wanted to go to the Keukenhof, but my husband doesn’t think it’s his cup of tea; so we never went. But I would love to go with him!
My girlfriend is coming over from Romania and her favourite flowers are tulips. We’de love to go together in our first spring together!
I’m an Irish gal who gave up her job to move here 6 months ago. Mam and dad are coming to visit in April and would so love to bring them and my kinderen and schoonouders to the keukenhof !!! Pretty please!!!! X
Lovely article and very convincing! I really want to visit this flower wonderland! Can I be so lucky to win a ticket?
What a lovely gesture!! I’d love tickets. I live in Almere & my brother & family are coming here for a visit next month. Keukenhof is on the itinerary. I’d love to be able to give them such a lovely gift as a surprise.
Wishing you a blooming’ successful season!
I am coming to your beautiful country all the way from Australia in April. My mother is Dutch and its my first time back to see where my blood comes from. I would love to get some free tickets so I can go to the gardens. My trip was almost cancelled because I have Bells Palsy so it would make me so happy to be able to see such a beautiful place.
Belinda – you are a WINNER! Are you already here? Please email us asap at [email protected] with a full postal address in the Netherlands where we can mail you your tickets!
Until you have visited the amazing dutch landscapes in flowering you haven’t really know what is the SPRING. In my first spring in Holland, I hadn’t any doub when my friends propose going to the best ever tulip garden in Europe. Keukenhoff is a huge amazing place where you can spend all day enjoying stunning exotic tulip ever seen. Great place to go with your family, carefully created to make your jaw drop. After that day, I’m just in love with Keukenhoff and, obviusly I’m looking forward to going back! I completely recommend this place. It’s a MUST in your visit to Holland. 100% tulip fan (L)
It would be the happiest place this Dutch girl could possibly want to be!
My parents were born in the Netherlands, so my whole life was Dutch traditions, food, and old time stories. My husband was also Dutch and he passed away before we had a chance to see this beautiful country together. My Daughter has always been so proud of her Dutch ancestry, and we would so much like to take this journey together.
I’m headed to Keukenhof early May with my father and 4 siblings- first time going to the Netherlands with all my siblings to see where my parents grew up. That would be wonderful to get free tickets!
Wij willen graag kaarpaasdagen om naar de keukenhof te gaan samen met mijn familie uit Canada
ze zijn hier met de paasdagen
Dan kunnen wij hun iets unieks laten zien van Nederland
Two friends from Canada (with a Dutch background) will visit the Netherlands in the Easter week, I want to show them the Keukenhof because it’s one of the most famous place here 🙂 And yeay, to be honest: we are students so the free tickets gives us the possibility to visit more amazing places with less money ^^
I want tickets to take my boyfriend mother because it Will be her birthday and i know she like Flowers also i want to go to make a live vídeo For my mother and Friends because i am from México and people need to see how beutiful is the world and how beutiful is the work of holanda to learn from them ???
Love the story about Keukenhof, especially the part of planting the tulip bulbs Lasagne style to ensure tulips can be seen in bloom for the full 8 weeks.
The tulip is my favorite flower and I always make sure to have fresh ones in my home in Sweden when they are in season!
Would love to visit Keukenhof with my 92 year old mother in law for the first time in my life!
Have a wonderful season!
I would love a couple of tickets because I recently lost my father to cancer. Keirkenhoff was the one place we visited together on my last visit to Holland. My mother and I are coming.ing to Holland in May for a family reunion. It would be nice to go with her to see the beautiful gardens.
I would love to visit Keukenhof because, although I was born in Limburg and have returned several times to visit relatives, I have never been able to take a spring holiday. Now I am retired and the world is opening up for me.
I’ve never visited & would love to go with my family! ??????
My Dutch mother took us to the keukenhof as babies and our family photo albums are stunning photos of that beautiful time of the year with my mother. Sadly she is no longer with us but my son Eric was born last Sunday (which also happens to be mothers day in the U.K.) and I would love to take him to see the stunning displays and fill my own albums with family photos of a beautiful tulip filled spring with a me as the new mother and Eric my beautiful son. The start of a wonderful family tradition hopefully.
My husband is dutch, I love him, I love flowers and I love the Netherlands! I have been to the Netherlands multiple times, but not in the spring.. We are heading that way next week and I am very excited to see his family, friends and scenes, but I am ecstatic about the possibility to see all the flower fields. It is a beautiful scenery and something I have been wanting to do since I was a little girl. It would be a dream come true to be there. I can’t wait for the pictures… my husband even got me a selfie stick to ensure i get nice pictures with the fields!
We are an Italian family and we really desire to visit this worl wonder for our 20th marriage anniversary on 26th April and coming to visit your land for our first time … Dal Col Family from Pordenone-Italy
I would love, love to see the gardens with my family!
I would like to get ticket for my husband just to prove that we need huge flower garden at home as well (not only green grass 😀 ). I want to show him that flowers are cool, great and actually can surprise you! He doesn’t believe that flower garden in real life is even better than one in picture. Men!
I’m visiting the Netherlands for the first time next week, what a wonderful introduction this would be!!??????????????????
I’m moving to Zaandam from Texas on Thursday to live with my long distance Dutch boyfriend. I’ve never been to Keukenhof, and would love to enjoy the experience with him!!
I moved to Netherlands 2 years ago. It’s my Mums 70th birthday this year but I won’t get to spend it with her. I’ve paid for her to come over in April. I told she can go anywhere she wants when she comes over. Keukenhof is the place she wants to visit the most.
I really would like to go there because i am an aupair in the netherlands and i am only here, for one year. In this year, i would like to see as muchan as possible inin this, beautiful country and the “typical“ dutch tulips areund definitely high up on the have-to-visit-list.
And as an aupair i dont get that much money, so i would be really happy, to get the opportunitiecity to go there!
Are you kidding? Who needs a reason? The fact that this place exists is a monument to the Dutch. My eyes need to smile.
Would love to see this fabulous garden again !!! Went there when I was 12 years old and have never ever seen such a gorgeous place , like this one !!! It is candy to the eyes !!! The pops of color and variety is just unbelievable !!! This garden sticks in your memory … l so would love to revisit this dreamland …
I have friends visiting from Ireland for Easter weekend. They would love to visit Keukenhof!!!
Hello, we are from Canada and went to the Keukenhof two years ago in early April. This year we are taking our adult children for the first time to the Netherlands and we will be there in early May. Can’t wait to see the blooming of the tulips. We are going with four of us and our children are students so “money saved is money earned”. It would be lovely to surprise them with free tickets. Thank you so much!
Well its like this, my father was born in Rotterdam my mother in Den Helder, and i was conceived under the Rotterdam bridge.then in that same year 1952 my parents sailed to Australia and i was born in the Macdonald house in Junee n.s.w.Now as hard as that sounds to believe you cant make stuff up like that. The last time i was in Holland was 1973.I think its time for another visit as i retire next year. And iam hanging for a herring real bad.
I turn 60 this summer. To go to my ancestor’s birthplace would totally be the way to celebrate 60 years of awesome! Would mean the world to me and be a great experience to share with my family and my first graders! Nancy Van Veldhuizen Kimbell
I don’t want to pay for the tickets, because I’m Dutch! I want to show the keukenhof to my girlfriend as a thrue Dutchie: on a bike, with a full broodtrommeltje and tickets for free!
I will be in the Netherlands for 10days in May. The gardens are one of the places I am going. To have free tickets would be even better.
It has always been high on my wishlist to visit Keukennhof in spring. We live in Namibia, a beautiful but very arid country and our gardens cannot maintain beautiful flowers there is simply too little water and it is too hot. This year my wish might come true as we will be visiting in Amsterdam in early May. To win tickets for the two of us would be fabulous!
I will visit my daughter in Haarlem soon, and we’d love to go to Keukenhof!
I am brining my mom especially all the way from South Africa to see your beautiful flowers. She is an avid gardener.
Who wouldn’t want free tickets to the most stunning garden in the world!? Plus I’d love to go myself and show the in laws when they visit!
My husband (he’s English and I’m Dutch but have lived in the UK for over 18 years now) always complains we only visit family and friends, so this time we are doing a very tourist Holland visit and booked a hotel in Amsterdam end of April. So surely a visit to the Keukenhof must on the top of our list ha ha.
Because I miss the Netherlands and this would make me so very happy … Maybe even enough to move to the country! Ik hou van Nederland!
My Dad and his sister will be there for a visit in a few weeks would love for him to have a chance to see those beautiful tickets! ??
I’m in Nederland for a year as an aupair with a very very small budget. Help a girl experience the beautiful tulip fields!
In 2014 my dearest friend Sarah from Colorado passed away. For 30 years we were close friends. Her plan was to come to the Netherlands in 2018 to visit Keukenhof gardens with me. Unfortunately she never made it…… In honour of Sarah her two sisters Holly and Bonnie are coming this upcoming May to the Netherlands. Together we will smile and honour Sarah while we explore Keukenhof gardens and make her unfilled dream come true 🙂
My sister and I are flying to Holland in early May and staying for a month. We are going to cycle around Holland , also catching up with our extended family. We of course are planning to include Keukenhof in our plans. I have been selling tulips here in South Australia for a number of years and to see the fields of tulips has been on my to do list for a long time. (My son has now taken over the nursery enabling me to go now)Would love to win some tickets!
My Daughter lives in Holland and it is our most favourite place ever! We are coming over to visit soon and would love nothing more than to visit Keukenhof! The tulips look so amazing and we would so love to see them! ??????
Beautiful video and article. I am a Dutch Canadian and have never seen this amazing flower field! We would love the chance to take our 87 year old mother back to her native land one more time!
I am trying to plan a visit here for our first time ever in April. I am an American married to a Dutch man and he too has never been to Keukenhof so we will get to experience this together! I have lived here for a year and I’m so excited to see such a beautiful Dutch location. He has always showed me around here so its nice to be able to go somewhere we both have yet to see. I also have a friend visiting all the way from America and would love to take her as well. The tickets would definitely help make this possible. Such a great opportunity you all are giving.
Crossing my fingers 🙂

Absolutely ‘blooming’ love this place! The sights, sounds and smells are simply ‘wonderfloral’ ‘ What better reason to come to Holland in the spring than the sight of ‘tulips near Amsterdam’. ?☀️??☀️?
I’m Dutch. My wife is not. So I like to show her how beautiful my country can be.
I’m learning Dutch at the school where I teach. I love how it sounds — such a light and lilting language! Dutch people are friendly and fun. I’d love to take my Dutch colleague and teacher Jeanette to the gardens, because amazingly, and never been! And I can’t wait to hear the Dutch people swear in my native language.
I would like to show my Australian girlfriend and her son to see this. My girlfriend loves the tulips and especially the black tulip
I would love a ticket to go because it would be the greatest way to celebrate with my love, 2 amazing events i have this year: my 40th birthday and our 10year wedding anniversary. Would be a fantastic present and adventure. Thanks!
I am coming to Netherlands in 3 weeks and I have never been to Keukenhof yet. A friend and I are traveling from the US and knew that the tulips were going to be in bloom…but didn’t realize it was in the heart of the season! We’d love tickets to Keukenhof! Please Please Please…it would be breathtaking!
We are leaving for Holland on May 6th and to know we could have tickets to see all these beautiful flowers would be amazing. Flowers are my passion and although I only live in a retirement village I still grow my own Tulips in pots. Spring is my favourite season of the year. Even if we don’t win these tickets we will still visit the Keukenhof but knowing we could possibly win some tickets makes it even more exciting. Good Luck to all entering. ?
In 23 years time, I have never been to the Keukenhof (I lived in Groningen so I guess we considered it to be ‘far’ away 😀 and apparently we don’t get to be so touristy in our own home countries) and then I moved abroad! I have now lived in different countries for the past 6 years, but I’m making plans to move back to the Netherlands next year, taking my Finnish boyfriend with me. I do visit home from time to time, and also at the end of next week I’ll be in the Netherlands for 10 days! I wanted to be there for my mum’s birthday. How great it would be if I could take her to Keukenhof, she loves flowers and gardening!
it would be a dream come true for us to be able to see these fabulous gardens, and to top,it off, take a couple of seniors with us.
All of my grandparents came from the Netherlands and I always wanted to visit and get to know the country where they came from.
It’s beautiful ? park i am from ecuador but I leave in Rotterdam I would like to visit the park with amazing tulips ? nice colors . Would be nice if I win tickets and I can give myself a birthday gift…!!!! I live flowers ?
I would like to go as I am applying for dutch citizenship this year,so it would be a nice place to visit with my husband to make more beautiful memories and mark a very important year.
I would love some tickets!! I’m a 2nd Generation canadian, all my extended family lives in Holland. I live in Germany as a military spouse, and it’s been my dream to take my kids to Holland to see the country where their Oma and Opa grew up. Plus we really want to be able to visit our family in Rotterdam. Thanks for the opportunity!!!
We have been in Holland last summer of 2016 for a month & we are going back this July-August 2017 with KLM because our 3 kinderen enjoyed their first time in Holland last year so much. Keukenhof & the free ticket to Holland in the Spring time would be so wonderful because we would never make it to Holland in the Spring otherwise. Dank jullie well from the mountain of Aspen, Colorado where my 3 kids are an avid skier.
I deserve to get the ticket because I have work very hard like a Dutch one and I should also take some rest like a native Dutch. In despite, I am a foreigner, I know how to enjoy the beautiful day like the Dutches enjoy their day. Of course, it has to do with the park and garden. I will not forget to bring dry and hard sandwiches in order to have the realy Dutch life.
Looks amazing! I’m Finnish and I have lived in the Netherlands for almost 4 years now. I never managed to visit the Keukenhof but I’m praying that this year we finally go together with my boyfriend..
I lived in The Netherlands for two years and never got to go there sadly. I will be visiting The Netherlands twice this coming summer and would be great to have something else to do than only hanging out with the in-laws. (Who are lovely but you know :D)
We were in Holland a few years back. My Canadian husband wanted to pay his respect to a cousin buried @ Groesbeek. A War Hero. Due to the weather we missed Keukenhof because we were told it was too early. What a treat to be able to go and visit the beautiful flowers. I was there in Elementary school in 1957 and was told one of the tulips was called Jessica. I would love to meet my namesake. Thank you
I am 60 years old, it has been my dream since I was little to see the tulips and windmills, I have been there once but I would love to go again,,The flowers takes off y stress and worries of this life,,,God’s wonderful blessing, thats Kaukenhof..
I am heading ‘home’ next week with my family and would love to show them the keukenhof with all its beautiful flowers! The Netherlands at it’s best. My husband hasn’t seen a Dutch spring yet? one of our best season’s
My sweet mother is 86 years old and in these 86 years she has never visited Keukenhof. I would love to surprise her with a visit to Keukenhof to experience the beauty of all the lovely flowers. I know for sure she’s going to love it 🙂
I would like the tickets so we could take our kids to the keukenhof. They love tulips. We visit the bulb fields every year. Plus I’m a budding photographer and would love the opportunity to take photos in the keukenhof.
I’ve been out of the country for some 20 years now and never visited Holland at the right time to see the tulips……This year I’m there, so it would be historical for me to go back to the Keukenhof after 40 years…….
I am of Dutch heritage. I would love to visit Holland…please pick me!
Just a few days from today, in the week before Eastern I will show my Norwegian wife the beauty of my beloved mother country.
Stuff Dutch People Like is DE plek op Facebook die me echt het gevoel geeft een Hollander te zijn!
2 kaartjes?, aub?
My daughter is studying in Amsterdam for 6 months on an exchange from Otago University in New Zealand. I would love for her to be able to visit Keukenhof on her tight student’s budget!
Keukenhof is amazing! And it would be a nice opportunity to show my dutch boyfriend why this park is so special! I have been there once and there is no way to describe how beautiful and peaceful this park is!
As a person living right next door of these amazing gardens, I definitely recommend cycling through the area! It’s the best way to really feel what this area is all about, and it smells and looks amazing during this time of the year!
Would be an awesome birthday present, and great to show my boyfriend this!
Keukenhof looks amazing in all it’s glorious color and pictures don’t do it the justice it deserves like actually being there. I would love the opportunity to visit the country of my birth where I lived for the first 5 1/2 years of my life. Also to have the chance of visiting with my family again after 63 years away would mean so much as our immediate family (mom, dad, brother and I) were the only ones to emigrate from Holland and the rest of the family stayed there. We have kept in touch but it would mean a lot to see them again. It is on my bucket list.
My grandma of 102 years old has lived in the Netherlands her entire life and still hasn’t visited them. It is about time and she is finally willing to tag along 🙂
My mom and aunts are flying to Amsterdam next month, and she has made it no secret that her primary purpose is to see the Keukenhof! Visiting me is only second on her list… Help me make her dreams come true with Keukenhof tickets.
Need to share with my friend how awesome NL is
We love keukenhof!! We moved to the Netherlands 2 years ago and have always felt very welcome in this country! We plan on going this spring and enjoying the display this year!
I would LOVE To Go to Keukenhof because my Opa was a bulb farmer in Susteren and every year my mother would plant 400 bulbs in her garden and I do as well. I am a Dutch Girl through and through. Ik zou graag naar Keukenhof omdat mijn Opa was een lamp boer in Susteren en elk jaar mijn moeder zou 400 bollen te planten in haar tuin en ik doe ook. Ik ben een Nederlands meisje door en door.

Every year when this event comes on the radar it leaves a lump in my throat and reminds me that although I left this beautiful country at age 6 my ties are still strong. A visit to Keukrnhof would be a dream come true.
I would love to give the tickets to my Dutch brother and his American wife! My brother lives in Panama and he and his wife got married last December. They will be visiting the Netherlands in a month and this will be the first Dutch visit for my sister-in-law. I would love for her to see such a beautiful and typical Dutch place. Would be a great wedding gift for them. ?
I am visiting this May with my parents to see where my mothers family is from. I have never been to the Netherlands and can’t wait to see the beauty of the country. To be able to visit this legendary flower would be an amazing experience
I was born in Holland, but have lived abroad for many years. I just got married to my American wife in December and I’m taking her to meet the Dutch side of the family for the first time. She is crazy about flowers and even more crazy about the bees. I can’t wait to show her how beautiful my country is.
My family and I are traveling from Canada at the beginning of May for my sisters 30th birthday. We are also going to the farm my mom’s family lived on before moving to Canada. We would love to add a day at the gardens to round out our trip!!
I’ve been to the Netherlands a few times, but never in the Spring. I’ll be in the Netherlands the last week of April and I’m so excited. Seeing the tulip fields has been on my bucket list forever! ?
I would LOVE to go and see the country where my Oma and Opa were born. They go back almost every year and I’ve never been. I visit the botanical gardens near their home, but it’s definitely not the same!
Aaliyah has been a dream of mine for many many years it is on my bucket list to see the tulips in bloom for over 50 years
I am American but grew up in the Netherlands and my husband is American (but 100% Dutch decent) and neither of us have ever been. We would love to go while we are there this May!
I am flying with my family all the way from Australia next week to see my Dutch family that I haven’t seen for almost 20 years. Keukenhof is high on the list of places to visit whilst we are are – so a few free tickets would be blooming amazing!!!!
I want our little son to see as much beautiful places as it is possible, and Keukenhof is one of them. Anyway we will go there with the family, but if we could win the tickets, it would be a nice pleasant gift. Have a great day!
My parents-in-law are coming over next week ftom Argentina South America to enjoy our spring / summer snd it would be a cherry on the pie if they could share in our flowery grandeur.
The last time I went to the Keukenhof was with my mum, as a young girl. We lost her in October last year, and it would be such a lovely, bitter-sweet memory to go again. She absolutely loved spring flowers!
It’s my mum’s 70th birthday in May and she would absolutely love to come as a keen florist. It would make her birthday extra special if I could bring her.
I left Holland in 2001 to move to Canada with my dad when I was 11 and haven’t been back since. I would love to visit with my wife and 2 year old now. so many tulips to see!
Sander van der Heide
van Canada ?? ??
My husband and I moved here from Texas about 8 months ago, and we’ve really missed our family and friends lately. We could really use a nice relaxing trip to see a beautiful place in our new adopted country!
I would like to win tickets for my cousin and her familie, as they have just lost a loved one. this may be a nice distraction for them, and because I live in Australia, and they in Holland it is something that I can do to help
Honeymoon travel. Come from China especially for the Keukenhof tulips and Rotterdam windmills. Can’t imagine how romantic it is to wander in the tulip sea~Wish to get the tickets!
I am New Zealander born from Dutch parents. I am planning to travel to the Netherlands in may and bring my husband and search my roots. I would love some tickets to these amazing looking gardens.
It would be wonderful to win some free tickets to the most beautiful and heavenly garden of all! I will be visiting my family and friends in Holland in May and it would be awesome to go to the Keukenhof!! I live in Canada and I love to visit Holland every few years, as I have a strong pull to my parents’ homeland. Please make this dream possible!!
i live on the island of Bonaire..there is no blooming season..will love to see it.a once in a life time.
I was born in Rotterdam and moved to Canada when I was seven….no choice!! I still consider Holland as my home. I miss the people, ocean, the market, croquettes, french fries and the list goes on. This would be the opportunity of a lifetime to go back there??
I’m Dutch, living in Holland and have never been in my life. I should know my country better so I wanna go this year 🙂
I’d love to take my parents back my mum was born there and hasn’t been back since she was 5yr old – 59yrs ago!!! Also show my family their heritage
While it’s always been a dream of mine to see the bulbs bloom, I can’t make it this year. But I have friends who really want to go that can. So if I could win the tickets, I would give them the tickets. Can’t wait to see the photos from this year.
My grandparents immigrated from Holland. Would love to see the beautiful land they came from!
THE COUNTRY IS SO BEAUTIFUL I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MY FAMILIES HOMELAND AGAIN. I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO FIND SOME OF OUR FAMILIES , THAT WOULD VERY EXCITING TO ME.
4 years ago I was able to visit NL but never witnessed buckets of tulips bloomed. My relationship with my ex ended up but that doesn’t stop my dream to see such wonderful creation beyond my imagination ??? fingers cross for this once in a lifetime opportunity. God Bless. ?
I lived in the Netherlands for a couple of years approximately 12 years ago and I never made it to the Keukenhof. I will be returning to Amsterdam NEXT WEEK with my 10 year old daughter to visit the Anne Frank Huis and see the flowers. We would LOVE, and very much appreciate, tickets! She’s going to love going back to school after Spring Break and telling her class about everything you have to offer!
Much love from Louisville, KY
My Canadian husband LOVES tulips and has not yet seen tulip season in the Netherlands
Would love to explore beautiful Netherlands especially Keukenhoff because of the very special bond between the Dutch and Canadian people. Bringing 7 friends to enjoy the experience with me would be the icing on the cake! Dankje wel.
My last name is Barneveld!!!! It’s only right that I get to attend.
Would love to introduce my husband and new baby to my Dutch family! My father was born and raised in Holland and I haven’t been back since he passed 8 years ago. So much love to share during a reunion trip! And a baby in the tulips, forget about it! ??
I would love to see the tulips and family
We have been planning a family trip for the last 6 months and will be there in the early part of May, from Vancouver British Columbia Canada. My Dad will be showing me his home country as we tour The Netherlands. Did I say I’m beyine excited!!! Visiting the Kuekenoef gardens is on my Buket list., As a first generation Canadian what can I say the tulip bulbs are “layered” in my blood. Wining tickets for us to see, up “crocus” and personal the gardens and displays …well it would just bring “bunches” And “bunches” of Tulip Joy!! ???let alone it will be a “blooming” good time! ? Success! 🙂
Jeanette – you are a WINNER!!! Please email us your full postal address to [email protected] and we will mail you 2 free tickets. Congrats!!
I left Holland in 1957 as a boy .Now that I am happily married for nearly 20 years with 3 children, 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren I would love to show my wonderful wife what a beautiful country I came from as a child of 10 years old.
I have never Been there, but would like to take My mother for a stroll – she’s My hero
Keukenhof has been my life long dream! I’m a landscape architect from South Africa. Gardening is my whole life and have even applied to work at Keukenhof! That’s how much I love it! I’m in Holland at the moment and have one week left here. Being a student, my budget is obviously limited. Going to Keukenhof would just be the highlight of my year and an epic end to my time in the Netherlands! Ik vindt Keukenhof heel leuk!
Wow, what a generous gesture! I have brought my 19 year old niece along with me for her first visit to Europe and her maternal grandparents home country, The Netherlands. We live in South Africa and Keukenhof has been on our itinerary of places to visit from the day we started planning this very special journey. Winning a ticket for her would be ‘so cool’ in her words!
Dear Darling Dutchies
I’m currently au pairing in this beautiful country for a year. It’s considered to be my heritage. My parents and sister are especially coming in May (all the way from Zuid-Afrika!) to experience this spectacular Keukenhof.
Do you know how weak the Rand is in comparison to the Euro?…
We would appreciate (no, be ECSTATIC) if you could help us South Africans out to experience this once in a lifetime experience.
Much blooming love,
Danielle
I have been living abroad for the last 3 years. I am currently in the Netherlands and need the tickets to soak in some extra Dutch culture before heading back to Asia.
This spring, visiting the Keukenhof is on top of my list, and I’d love go there with my non-Dutch boyfriend!
My boyfriend finally got a visa from Palestinian territories… it s an achievement to go out of the misery there ! I want to show him all the beauties of this country… i hope i win those tickets to see him smiling?, just to make someone happy… thats the most beautiful reason on earth…
I went for the 2015 Van Gogh season and it was fucking beautiful (see what I did there) I’d also absolutely looooove some tickets for this year ? I’m taking my friend to the city for her birthday (which is on kingsday) so they would be an added treat for the day before as she’s never been to keukenhof
Good luck everyone ?
I have never seen Keukenhof in bloom and would like to do so. It has all ways been the wrong time of the year when I have visited Holland. Perhaps I will be lucky this time!
*Writing this I’m eating a boterham met hagelslag* I’m Polish, but my boyfriend is Dutch. I have been visiting the Netherlands quite often recently and I simply fell in love with this country. I started exploring the history, I enjoy the food (oh, boerenkool met worst), I spend time with a typical Dutch family (and I love it!), I travel around (last week it was Efteling), I study Dutch (which is really difficult, guys) and I even have my own OV-chipkaart. I wish I could see Keukenhof and have the ultimate Dutch experience.
In April I am taking my husband on a tour of the country I was born. We have just bought a house so money is a little tight. I would love to show him this wonder, and rekindle a memory I have had since I was 8years old xx
I have been and think it is so beautiful and amazing. I would love to go back but I would like tickets so I can give it/ donate to someone who lives in NL visiting for medical reasons and has never or might not have the chance to visit this magical place.
This Aussie girl just loves Tulips, and cannot believe that there could be so much beauty in one place!, that is why My husband and I will be in the Netherlands this May and the first place we will see will be the biggest flower garden in the world! 7 million bulbs woo hoo! that is something special & I just know that it will be unforgettable! Cheers to an ‘unforgettable & successful blooming’ season! Can’t wait to experiance the beauty that is Keukenhof.. See you on the 12th May 2017.. good luck to everyone!
Ag nee!
As a Dutchy living abroad, I’m looking forward to visit my home country over the Easter holidays. I have actually never been to the Keukenhof and would love to use this time to catch up with my Dutch education and be a tourist in my own country.
Im meeting my girlfriend and her grandmother in Amsterdam next week. I’ve talked up Holland a lot and now I need to prove its worth if I want to steal my girlfriend away to here from America. Help me out!
My nephew asked me last spring to show him Holland. He would like to see the house his Opa was born in and the land from is heritage. We have been waiting with baited breath ever since we booked our tickets in the fall. See you in 2 weeks ! We would love to see Keukenhof.
All my life I have wanted to visit Holland. My father was born there. Before dad passed away 9 years ago I promised I would get there but I would only go during the tulip blooming festival. Well this is that year !!!!! We arrive April 27th. I have never been more excited to go on a vacation as this one. See you all soon. From Ontario Canada
Tulips are very simple but extremely beautiful, and therefore it’s my favourite flower. I have been wanting to go visit Keukenhof but never get a chance to. Although not blood related, many things happened in my life have linked me to the Netherlands, even my name (by choice, when I was 13) is called Julianna! Therefore, it would be my privilege to receive these tickets. Dank je wel. Xxx
My mother moved to the US when she was 16 from the Netherlands. She went back a few times in her younger years but has not been back since (mostly for financial reasons). She is 70 now. She has always told us kids about the beauty of the Keukenhof. Would be wonderful for her to be able to see it one more time. Thank you for the opportunity!
After hearing so much nice things about Netherlands and will be going to this country for a holiday soon, it will be a great opportunity to get free tickets to Keukenhof!
The best of the best for flowers, friendly folk and poffertje
I highly recommend people to go and visit, it is beautiful. (and disregard my comment as entry for the “tombola” please. I am Dutch, rather have the ticket going to one of our foreign friends)
My Dutch born son is taking his USA born girlfriend to the Netherlands in May for the first time! It wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Keukenhof ?! I would love to give them the tickets!
Would love to go with my Irish husband and our 2 little boys who are learning all about spring and flowers in school at the moment. It will be magical 🙂
I’d love tickets, my sister and I are travelling with my parents next month to visit their homeland and family, what a great adventure it would be if we could add Keukenhof as one of our stops, it looks so awesome all that colour and all those flowers, so pretty

My favourite flowers are tulips. Ever since young girl, my sister and friends were bringing me tulips for my birthday. 2 years ago, while living in London, my friends offered me as a birthday present, a plane ticket to Amsterdam. Being here for a long weekend (moved to Amsterdam in the meanwhile), I had the great chance to visit Keukenhof.
I think it was one of the most amazing experiences from all my travels.
This year for my birthday I would soooo love to go again, to see the beautiful flowers as a resident of The Netherlands 🙂 Hope to be the lucky one 🙂 I usually am a very lucky girl

I live in the Czech Republic and I´m going with a friend to the Netherlands to visit and see the biggest flowers garden in Europe, Keukenhof. We´re looking forward to visit the park, cycling, enjoying the spring, admiring the lovely country, hopefuly also speaking Dutch which I´m learning. Thanks for this nice article.
The world is a beautiful place. It is wonderful when people work hard to make it even more beautiful. I will be flying over 6,000 miles in April to visit The Netherlands and friends. Keukenhof is at the top of my list of places that I want to see. I would be very happy to win tickets.
Never been to Europe and what a lovely opportunity would it be to start off with Keukenhof, Netherlands. The dreamland depicted on the Bollywood romantic movie ‘Silsila’.
I love the Keukenhof. I love flowers, I love their colours, I love their shapes, I love their smell. I have a very rare blinding eye disease and I am rapidly losing my sight. I would love the opportunity to see the beautiful flowers once more.
I am a South African living in the Netherlands for 3 years and I would love to take my family that will be visiting from SA and Australia in May.
